چکیده
Background: Febrile seizure occurs in 2–5% of neurologically healthy infants and children. The recurrence febrile seizures is 30% after single episode, 50% 2 or more episodes, when occur infants. Their incidence India 10–17% which higher than developed countries (2–7%). Aims Objectives: purpose this study was to evaluate iron deficiency (ID) as a risk factor for convulsion the association ID anemia with convulsions. Materials Methods: This an observational case–control conducted tertiary care center central between December 2019 June 2021. All patients taken cases control from similar age group illness. Body temperature children both groups measured recorded. blood tests complete count, serum iron, TIBC were performed. Results: In present study, mean 2.33 years case 2.204 control. hemoglobin levels 8.25±1 g/dL 9.86±1.49 group; their statistical difference significant. Serum ferritin values significantly lower among group. average MCV, MCH, MCHC less that also demonstrates seizures. Thus, one possible factors Conclusion: showed hemoglobin, ferritin, are suffering seizures, suggesting low status has important role predictor convulsion.
